I picked this one up as it was released on a recommendation of a high school acquaintance. Eh, it’s okay. Alternative rock/metal isn’t really my thing (especially when it’s got a mellow side), but I was open to pretty much everything at that point in my life. There are a few good songs on it, but most of those are the singles and the rock stations where I lived at the time (Fort Walton Beach, FL) played them ad nauseam. So they don’t really do much for me anymore.

This album definitely helps define an era of my life though: the end of high school and the beginning of college featuring my brief jaunt moving back to Virginia (where a girl I was friends with/dated played this constantly).

Funny, when my friend recommended this CD, I figured they were a heavy metal band. “Incubus” just sounds like a band that should play harder and faster than these guys do.

Highlights: “Privilege”, “The Warmth”, “Stellar”, “Drive”, “Pardon Me”
